The solid waste slag (containing 40% iron) from a copper smelting plant is added with carbon free fluxing agents, and two products are smelted using the electromagnetic stirring characteristics of a direct current mineral heat furnace. One is low-carbon pig iron (bread iron), and the other is smelting slag made of calcium silicate, which is used to produce cement clinker.
